The Paulo Gontijo Award

Established in 2005 to honor the memory of engineer Paulo Gontijo, the Paulo Gontijo Institute (IPG) promotes and funds excellence in ALS research in Brazil and worldwide. Our award has become the foremost scientific recognition in the field, bringing together brilliant minds, innovation, and hope in pursuit of a cure.

Eligibility

Submissions are invited from researchers affiliated with recognized research or higher education institutions.

Submission Guidelines

All manuscripts must be submitted exclusively through the designated online platform. Each submission should include the full article and all required supporting documentation.

Important Dates

The submission window opens on July 13^th, 2026, and will close strictly on September 13^th, 2026. Late submissions will not be considered under any circumstances.

Review Process

All manuscripts will undergo a rigorous peer-review process conducted by our panel of scientific experts. Evaluation criteria include scholarly impact, originality and innovation, and methodological rigor.
